Poem about My Life

Where I'm From

I am from Westwood Farms, from clarinets and books.
I am from the second house on the left with the green shutters and The Lovely Blue Van parked in the driveway.
I am from the tomato and strawberry plants that we attempted to grow.
I am from Bunko and Party Potatoes, from Rick and Lynn.
I am from Bingo and Gin Rummy, from practice makes perfect.
I am from "No Jumping," "No Running," and "Quiet."
From "Yes, I will disown you if you become a hobo," and "If you were adopted, we would have gotten rid of you already."
I am from Sicily 411, Germany, and Romania.
From my Italian Auburn hair and pale skin.
From the time I cried when Grandma told me I was a gypsy.
From the broken door, wall, and everything else I broke.

I am from Lutheran, from church twice a year.
I am from countless band and orchestra concerts and clarinet lessons.
I am from Strongsville, spaghetti, and Market Day chocolate chip cookies.
